Gambellara Wines

This historic DOC area at the foot of the ancient Calvarina volcano, located to the southwest of Vicenza, is characterized by volcanic soils rich in minerals and formed largely by volcanic basalts and volcanic tufa.

The Gambellara Classico and the Recioto of Gambellara are among the oldest wines produced in Italy. The grape used to produce them is Garganega, a white grape considered native to our hills. It is harvested by hand to accurately select the best bunches.

For more than 10 years, we have vinified Vin Santo of Gambellara, a passito wine with an ancient tradition and unique DOC of its kind in the Veneto. Years of work and a research project have been dedicated to Vin Santo in collaboration with the University of Verona.

NATIVE GRAPES – GARGANEGA

Native to the province of Vicenza, the Garganega grape produces fresh white wines with elegant flavors, minerality and salty taste.

The volcanic soil makes the Garganega grapes perfect for wines with a good aromatic complexity and a bitter almond aftertaste, which is typical of this vine.
